    March 8th, 2011 AROTC Board

better late than never Just got home from work on the West Coast. DS awarded scholarship at around 1:00 EST time. Don't know if 3 year or 4 year or where but just the fact he has "something" is an incredible relief. DH has been laid off since Nov and the money for college is huge, but...

    March 8th, 2011 AROTC Board

I remember on the Jan 4 board results thread many reported the DoDMERB status link being down. I hadn't checked it since Dec when DS was cleared for WP. I just tried to see if ROTC clearance was added and couldn't connect. I tried this link: https://dodmerb.tricare.osd.mil/ but I may have...

    January 4, 2011 AROTC Board

Okay- totally confused at this point--any advice appreciated. DS will be evaluated by the March 8 ROTC board. He is 3Q'd for USMA and is on the NWL. If his status changes on the next month on the ROTC board ( fingers crossed) to the Check with DoDMERB message, how is that different to already...

    January 4, 2011 AROTC Board

Thank you-- that was my gut feeling-- already have the ROO's number in my purse to call from work. Normally we tell our DS to make all phone calls himself, but lately he has no time during the day other than lunch and the last time he tried that the ROO was at lunch as well. Time for Mama Bear...

    January 4, 2011 AROTC Board

We are also having problems with the website. We can get to the website and log-in but it still says our DS needs an interview. He had his interview in early Jan. The ROO that did the interview says he submitted it and received confirmation of receipt, but after emailing/calling mulitple...

    Prep School

Thank you so much, marciemi, for confirming our gut feeling. It was a very hard decision, and we weren't sure how WP would view declining the offer. This posting makes me feel a lot better about our famiy decision.

    Candidate responsibilities during waiver process?

We went through this-- send the updated information to DoDMERB ASAP-- it's very helpful if your doctor writes a letter of explanation. Then, keep your Regional Admin Officer in the loop that you're doing this. Larry Mullen at DoDMERB is also very helpful and responsive. Good Luck!

    Colorblind Test

Regarding vivid/red green test--be careful. Make sure the tester, preferrably an opthomologist, knows what this test is-- most don't. It's exactly what it sounds like--if looking at something that's vivid red and vivid green side by side, can you tell the difference? We had to have our...

    AROTC and USMA

First, finding this forum has greatly helped to lessen my anxiety as a mother of a prospective USMA cadet. Here is the situation for which we need advice: My son was placed on the the NWL in early Dec. Since then , he started thinking about plan "B." He has already been accepted at 3...
