    Maintain Academics

You have to mess up pretty bad. But if you have an offer to a military academy, it's not worth pushing the limit. Just do your best. They don't want to see you slacking, but a C isn't going to kill you.

    Importance of NASS.

NASS is for you, not the Academy. Ya, they do evaluations and stuff, but they really don't mean all that much unless you get a bad one (which rarely happens). If the academy offered you NASS, then they're already interested. NASS is just supposed to convince you to go. Don't sweat it if...

    Language requirement?

Unfortunately, Latin isn't really counted as course credit. My roommate (a genius, top 5% of my class) took Latin and didn't get course credit. But don't let language worry you. Engineers don't have to take any language, group 2 majors only need 2 semesters, and group 3 need 4. The good news...

    What to bring?

just come with dressy-casual attire. Maybe khakis. Jeans are "ok," but remember you aren't visiting a regular college. Honestly, it's not a big deal because the officers don't evaluate you; your plebe that you stay with does and they almost always just give you the highest score (it's what I...

    The tide may be turning

The application is the first step of the weeding process. The Academy has a great poker face when it comes to this. They were dead silent with me until one day a big packet came in the mail with my appointment.

    CFA Results

Don't stress too much about the CFA... but just for a point of reference, the PRT (physical readiness test, we take it every semester) maximums are 101 pushups, 101 situps, 8:15 mile and a half. The PRT actually is a considerable factor in your rankings and such, and if you want to be a marine...

Is it this quiet for everybody?

From what I know, and I've spoken to quite a few people about the DODMERB, many people get DQ's that are easily waived. Just follow the instructions for your follow-ups and he should be fine.
