I've lifted this in it's entirety from a Blog named OPFOR which is by and about VMI and the military in general. though generally don't reference other Blogs, I felt that this was really well done and speaks to the heart of most of those on our forum. We're a nation and an Army at War- and have been for 11 years now. There seem to me to be far too many posts on here about this and that - and far too few that recognize the Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen and Coast Guardsmen who are still putting their lives on the line. The military isn't about budgets, political drivel etc- in 2012 it's really still about our Soldiers fighting a war. RIP Lt Prasnicki. John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

(Acknowledgments to the guys who publish OPFOR and my apologies for quoting you in whole!)

Kipling always seemed to get it right and could say it the best. "Thin Red Line" and getting thinner. The distance between civilian and those who serve is getting broader and broader.
