Are you supposed to contact admissions or a regional commander or ALO if you got a bad grade grade in something? Like to explain the reason why you got a bad grade? I read somewhere that you had to...

LOAs are conditional, that is to maintain high standards. They will require your transcripts. You could be forthcoming and approach your FFR about the situation. But that is just my opinion, there are way more experienced folks on here about this subject that can chime in before you make a move.

You are required to provide your 7th semester grades to West Point. Bad grades will probably lower your ratings (WCS). If there is a VALID reason for a bad grade you should contact your RC now. I have seen people not get an offer due to bad 7th semester grades. The standards are so high this year (and every year) that ANY adverse information can be the difference.
