If I were to send in my transcript updated with my 1st semester 12-grade grades, would the USAFA admissions board take that into account? (I have already mailed the required transcript prior to senior year)

Thank you.

I remember I did last year because I concluded that they did take it into account.

I called my counselor about this, and surprisingly, she said I didn't need it.

I would call and see.

Those who are not accepted yet need to send in 1st. semester grades ASAP. Those who have received appointments do not need to send anything in until the spring semester is over.

So admissions will re-figure the GPA that they have on system now with my updated transcript? (being that I have not been offered an appointment yet)

I am very suprised by this. Most competitive colleges, which the Academy is one of the hardest, want your midyear grades, as well as, your final grades. They want these so they can see if you continued to work hard your senior year. If you had all A's and you started getting C's or D's your final semester, they will normally resend their offer of admission. Also, I remember reading that the Academy wanted them on the personal information page that was part of the application.

Bendaddy,
I would either do what ZoomingFalcon did and call or I would just send it in. Worst Case they trash it. Best case you improved your class rankings and gpa and it makes it into your packet that goes before the selection panal.

Good Luck,

You have a valid point RM. I expected to send in my transcript. Maybe they don't need it for those accepted, but I would think they would do what you said: watch to make sure people don't goof around.

My counselor asked for mine after I had an appointment. Also in the appointment letter they said "this appointment is conditional on continued excellence academically, socially, and physically." My counselor said it had something to do with me taking college classes, I think they want to mainly confirm that I am still in school.

Later,

Brian

Thanks guys. I figure I will be sending in my transcript when 1st semester grades come out. Expecting straight A's, so I hope the Academy does update its candidates' GPAs and class rankings!

How much do they weight seventh semester grades? I'm taking APs in english, chem, calc, and spanish, and then an honors philosophy class. All As minus calc and chem (oh what a struggle...). Admissions boosted my unweighted GPA through the end of junior year a bunch but I'm really worried about how receiving less than stellar marks in two classes seventh semester is going to affect my chances.
