My DS has received his nomination, but his portal has 2 nominations from the same source. Any insight on this would be appreciated.

NOMs

My DD has two also. I figured one of two things: administrative error or the MOC has two NOMs to give this year (authorized 5, so every 4th year MOC has two on the average). 2 cents

More than likely, the MOC has two vacancies. Check the portal, it should something like AA121 and AA122. First two letters should be your state, first two numbers should be the congressional district, and last number should be the corresponding vacancy.

A MOC as authorized to have 5 cadets/midshipmen at a SA

For one vacancy, a MOC can NOMINATE up to 10 candidates.

Nomination does not equal appointment.

DS has the same thing - WI 2 is listed twice on his portal. DS did get confirmation from Congressman he was nominated. Still waiting to hear from the Senators though...

That 3rd number (the slot number) is not visible to the candidates on their portal.
