North Texas students who are interested in learning more about our nation’s service academies can attend the 2012 North Texas U.S. Service Academies Forum.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, Senator John Cornyn, Congressman Sam Johnson, Congressman Jeb Hensarling, Congressman Joe Barton, Congresswoman Kay Granger, Congressman Bill Flores, Congressman Kenny Marchant, Congressman Michael Burgess and Congressman Pete Sessions.

Representatives from congressional offices, all five academies - U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and U.S. Air Force Academy - and ROTC, as well as current academy cadets and midshipmen, will be on hand to speak with students and their families one-on-one about the excellent possibilities associated with attending these premier educational institutions, and the sorts of careers they generate. This informational forum provides interested students in grades eight through twelve the opportunity to learn more about our nation's service academies, requirements for admission and the selection process.
