2012 USAFA Summer Seminar Students

You'll have a great time

Summer Seminar is an amazing experience. You will meet a lot of incredible people while there. I attended last year Session A. It was a great experience and I am glad I chose to go.

I am amazed they are sending acceptances so fast. I think I had to wait two months to hear if I got in to summer seminar.

Congratulations to those who have been accepted. There is still a lot of time before summer so start thinking of questions you want to ask when you get here. Summer Seminar is a blast. It is a great opportunity to see the Academy and get a tiny taste of what it is like to be a basic cadet for a few hours. Enjoy the experience and make sure to take in the beautiful scenary in the low-pressure environment Summer Seminar provides. You wouldn't want to be caught "gazing" should you return the next summer as an appointee.

I went to summer seminar last year too session B! If you have any questions or want info on the experience or anything you can reply or pm me! Congrats to every one who has already been accepted!!! Good luck to everyone else!

Summer Semiar

I got in to the last session. Anyone else from washington get in?

I will be attending session C. Got my email Sunday morning at 3:30 am Pacific. Who is alive at that time of day.

Computers!

I'm also about done with the application. Just finishing and tidying up my resume and then a good checking by some family members. I'm then waiting for the PSAT scores. I have my SAT's posted, but I'm not submitting until I have my PSAT scores. For all I know, I might have gotten really good ones! Congratulations to all who have been accepted. I'm looking forward to the camraderie all of us will create throughout this upcoming year (whether we make it or not into SS or the Academy). Best of luck to those still applying, and a huge thumbs up to those already accepted! Off We Go, Into the Wild Blue Yonder!

Its official! I accepted to go to session A. I thought I was going to go session B, but I just found out my family is going somewhere so I'm going to session A. What about everyone else?

Hi everyone! My name is Alison Skidmore and I live in California. I just found out I was accepted to Summer Seminar, and I am planning on going to session C. My admission only took about 2 days? It was weird because I heard it can be a very long process! I am so excited because I have only heard good things about it!! Please, please, pleaseee provide all the information you guys have about SS, I'm still very curious! Can't wait to get to know everyone!

I attended USAFA Summer Seminar and USCGA AIM last year and I'm currently a USAFA/USNA/USCGA/USMMA applicant (completed). If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I'll try to help as much as I can.

If you could say what state you are from, what your stats were and how long it took for you to get any update/reply whatsoever from USAFA, that would be awesome.
I have a fairly good resume (4.0 GPA, 71CR, 72M, 75W, captain of club swim team, 3 varsity letters, other sports, Civil Air Patrol, Girl Scout Gold Award,, volunteer service, job over the summer, etc...) and applied the first day and have heard nothing, and my application still says it hasn't been processed. My ALO couldn't really tell me much about it either.

I'm from California. My GPA was 3.7. I don't really remember what my test score/resume was when I applied for Summer Seminar (It's way different now), but your's are way better. I had an amazing ALO so that may have helped me a bit. I believe I got a response saying I got accepted around January. Summer Seminar admissions is really only based on stats alone, so from the looks of it, you should be fine. Just be patient with it; Summer Seminar is a blast. I can probably answer questions about Summer Seminar itself better if you have any of those later on.

Hey y'all! Congrats on your acceptances! I'm Tori from Texas, and right now I'm scheduled for Session B! Can't wait to see all my fellow future cadets there!

I am so glad I found this! My name is Brady, and I live in West Texas. I just received my acceptance letter. I am going to attend session A. I applied in early December and just received my acceptance. I'm really excited about this opportunity to experience the Academy first-hand and meet interesting people such as yourselves.
