2012 USAFA Summer Seminar Students

No email?

First off, a big congratulations to all who have been offered and have accepted a slot at Summer Seminar. It is another step along an honorable journey. My DS was also offered and he accepted a slot in session C. My question is that the offer was on his application, but no email came thru. Is that normal?

It may have gotten caught in a spam filter. That has been known to happen:thumb: Good Luck to your son!

I first found out by obsessively checking the status of my application on the link. I didn't get an email until like the day after, so don't worry! congrats!!!!:biggrin: I'm also going to Session C, and tell him to join our facebook group!

I never got an email either. It has been almost a week since I was accepted.
 
I've been hanging out around this thread for awhile then I decided to make an account and join in the conversation. I'm Thomas from Washington, I applied on December 1st and was accepted on December 4th and I'm planning on going to Session C.
 
Congrats to everybody that's been accepted!

I applied earlier this week (I messed up and didn't realize it had opened a few weeks ago), and the app is still being processed. But just out of curiosity, what are the session dates? NASS and SLS are on top of each other.. and on top of my last weeks of school... so I'm just wondering if the USAFA Summer Seminar is at the same time as well.

My application says that it "has not yet been processed by USAFA" yet, but I am from Ellensburg, Washington! I just joined, but I haven't seen many people on here from Washington!

(Is my acceptance oddly early - I applied on the 25th of December at like 10 o'clock, I thought I had low chances because of such a late application, but guess not!)

Congratulations! I am also worried about late applications--I applied on January 6th. Do you think that you could post the important parts of your application just so I have a reference of what is accepted even with late entries? Thanks! :)

My name is David, I'm from NJ, and I'm attending session B. I think this thread is such a good idea! Looking forward to a great summer seminar at the academy

Should an applicant to AFA SS put an asvab score of 82 on the application?
 
ASVAB scores should not be listed on this application. ASVAB scores are for individuals who are electing to going into enlisted service with one of military branches. It would carry no weight what so ever. I don't think it would matter if you already included it, they would probably just ignore it.

So I applied for the summer seminar on December 1, just a couple hours after it opened, and I still have not heard a response from them. Infact, it has took air force almost a month and a half just to process my application, and about a week ago my application just now stated it is under consideration. I have tried to contact my liason officer on January 3 to ask why it is taking so long for my application to be processed, but he has not replied yet. So anyway, I'm going to ask you guys, why do you think it has taken so long for my application to get process and reviewed? Won't this put me at a disadvantage since air force has a rolling admissions?
 
I did not get my reply until early February. You just have to be patient and realize there are thousands of teens applying and processing takes time. If your application is taking a while then chances are everybody else's is too, I would not worry about rolling admissions.

I got accepted January 5th. 20 days later, I still have not recieved the email. Anyone know if i should contact admissions?
 
Applied on December 27th and still no response. No worries though!:thumb:
 
Apply Now?

I wasn't aware that applications were being accepted already. I assumed it was february 1st like the naval academy. Should i apply now online or would it look bad that it took so long?
