Not as large a difference between "qualified" and "admitted" as I might have thought -- this suggests that the National Wait List was not very long.
Of course, the Admissions Office may have raised the bar on what "qualified" means in response to a higher number of started applications.

Does anyone know the percentage of 1,193 that came from civil prep schools? Would be interesting to know, even if just an educated guess. Also, what happens to the 40+ that didn't make it via USMAPS? Is it one and done, on to plan B, or can they go another year at USMAPS?

My educated guess will be 60, of about 50 being West Point sponsored Civil Prep and 10 being what is called "self-prep." If you are West Point sponsoed Civil Prep, you are almost guaranteed an appointment upon successful completion of the program. As for reapplicants that just decided to attend a civil prep school on their own, I only know of one in last several years from MD that got an appointment. My personal opinion is that a good college with ROTC is better than attending a civil prep school.

Unless things have changed, USMAPS is a one shot deal. Used to be if you did get appointment, they didn't even let you finish the academic year.-

    AROTC Applicants?

Where do AROTC cadets who are applying (or in my case reapplying with ROTC scholarship) fit in on the demographics of those admitted? Roughly how many ROTC cadets get appointed? And lastly, would having a full 4-year AROTC scholarship hinder your chances of being appointed because you are already getting the same deal as WP minus the experience?

Thanks in advance! Hoping this second go-around works out!

By Title 10, up to 20 ROTC/JROTC cadets are appointed each year with the ROTC nominations. This is bonus as a ROTC cadet can be also appointed with a Congressional nomination. I was a ROTC scholarship reapplicant when I got accpeted back in 1990. I know of a ROTC cadet with scholarship with appointment to West Point from MD this year. So, I don't think being an reapplicant with a ROTC scholarship hurts you.

But, you should be able to answer why West Point when by participating in the ROTC scholarship you can still become an Army officer.

    Stats: Eagle Scouts?

Statistically obsessed scientist that I am, Any idea how many Eagle Scouts are in this class? Or how many kids are US citizens from overseas?

    Thanks.

Do writing scores now count? My highest ACT score was my writing score and I was under the impression it was not going to count. However, on the profile it states that the scores listed include only scores used as a basis for admission, and the writing scores are listed.

I was accepted in to the class of 2016, but was medically disqualified two weeks before flying out; I'm doing ROTC this year with a LOA; if I got a nomination from my ROTC commander would that guarantee me a spot in the academy anyways? Or if there are more than 20 people out there with LOA's in JROTC/ROTC, would we have to get congressional nominations as well?
