2016 USNA Mailbox Stalkers Club...

I thought for sure there would be some communication today based on so many having heard. Nothing in the mailbox today in Maine

Still Hopeful, still praying

DS received rejection letter from AFA last night. We are still praying for Navy. Either way we are so very proud of him even making it this far. Only the best of our best will get this opportunity. From hearing about all of your kids I am proud to even have him in this group. Congrats to all that have received appointments and I know you will make us safe and proud! To all still waiting best of luck. We are looking harder at plan B.

Still waiting on Long Island. Getting ready to visit University of Florida to explore NROTC. Best of luck to all still waiting.

Have not had a single candidate (out of 30) selected this year. Still have 2 in the balance (going through remedial DoDMERB). Tough year this year!!

No word yet in CA district 10.

What happens to people that are waitlisted? Do they only get in if enough people decline?

Rachelbachem - yes the academy has a target class size so based on that and how many people decline appointments people will be admitted from the waitlist

still waiting in MI-15 too... I'm in Italy visiting my sister and her husband at an army base here and have my grandma checking the mail for me everyday.

Hmmm...I'm a little confused. Does waitlisted mean that they have been pulled from the National Pool, ranked and stacked, and will get an appointment if there is a slot to be filled, for example in late May or June or so? Or does it simply mean they're in the National Pool? Just curious.

RachelB- not sure if you were aware but already an appointment posted fin January for CA-10.

For those of you still waiting... My son spoke to his BGO last night who notified him he would not be getting an appointment. He also has NOT received a letter or any official notification yet in the mail . He had access to this info on his BGO portal. I know not all bgo's may feel comfortable notifying candidates of their status but may be worth a call.

Not trying to be negative but give you our situation. No mail or official notice as of today but should expect the letter any day. At least it will not be as shocking and honestly my son appreciated hearing if from his BGO who has been there throughout this process and very supportive. Also to add... My DS was the last candidate his BGO was waiting on. This BGO had NO appointments this year in his territory. He was shocked and really though my DS was the one. We live in N. CA in a very pro military area with an AF base in it! Lots of candidate but no appointments. The MOC appointment was from outside our county but still him his congressional district.

At this point I concer that the best case would probably be waitlist. I hope i am wrong and truly send my heartfelt best wishes to those of you still waiting!

Still waiting in TX-10 also! No word either way, so the waiting game continues. Have Plan B on the back burner, but am still hopeful no news is good news. Haven't seen anyone else from this district post on the forum, so no idea if anyone has received an appointment or not.

Hey zh2016... we are waiting too in TX-10. Expecting a TWE anyday now as time has grown short. We are in Tomball. You?

I've been waitlisted here in OK-1. Received both a phone call from the BGO and a letter on Monday.

In Katy. Does your child have a Plan B in place?

We have several back up plans in the works.... he is still holding out a little hope for USCGA as we just heard from the basketball coach yesterday and is still considering several other schools. How about you guys? Just ready for the wait to be over here.

My STRONG recommendation for all waitlisted candidates is to pursue your plan B. Given the (to date) high rate of acceptances and the smaller class, I would expect few candidates from the WL to receive an appointment. As always, just being honest.

If an appointment comes through in May or June, whatever time and expense you've expended on Plan B will likely pale in comparison to your joy. Or, if you're set on Plan B, then it probably means it was right for you.

There are many paths to becoming an officer and even more paths to success in life!

TWE recieved

Got my TWE today, not waitlisted or anything, outright denied- pity if not for my senior grades... but its not the last theyv'e seen of me. does anyone know if NROTC has an SMP program with marine/navy reserves like with army rotc and guard/reserve for the army?
