2020 Appointments

My son just got a call from his representative (22nd district NY) saying he has his nomination. Interviewed with one senator last week and still going ahead with the the 2nd senator tomorrow. With his LOA (back in August), I guess he will be getting an appointment and hopefully will show up in the portal soon. We are so proud of him!

He only just got the call. He will inform both senators but will still go ahead with the interview as well as his plans B and C -- it's not a done deal until he's offered an appointment and even then not really done until he shows up for I-day
 
Notifying one's MOC of other nominations received varies from MOC-to-MOC...some ask to be notified and others don't care. Rhode Island's Senators and/or Congressmen might not care if a candidate receives multiple nominations but that might not be the same in California.
 
HopefulDad, indeed the NY senators ask to be notified. I personally would not notify anyone until it is either posted on the USNA CIS or received as an official letter/email...otherwise, it didn't happen!

I grew up in 22 and now live in 27. My son is a plebe now living the dream!

My son got his LoA from the AFA right before Thanksgiving, and a call from one of the MOC he interviewed with Tuesday, offering nominations for both the AFA and USMA, where he has a "Letter of Encouragement" but some form outstanding from his HS. Happy and relieved to get the good news of the nom before Christmas. :)

Looks like (God-willing) I'm going to be a military mom. Surreal.

Congratulations!! My DS also was given the great news from our MOC. Took two days for it to show up on the portal, so just hang in there.
