2020 Appointments

If you don't have a nom you're not going to get a decision. From what most people have said in the forums, Jan-March is when most people hear, but "by April 15" is the definitive answer. Good luck!

Do you find out if you got an appointment through email, system, or mail? Or all three and if so what order does it usually occur in?

Our Senators and Congressman called and told my son he got his appointment several days before he heard from the Academy.

DS received a MOC nomination and the USNA CIS has recently updated to LOA! What we are puzzled about is the verbage of the application status. It states their records indicate he needs to complete items to become fully qualified for admission. The CIS indicates that "Required Actions" : None . :Special Instructions": None. All of DS 's info has been submitted and DODMERB passed as well.
Is this the normal manner and verbage for an LOA, or is something else required? Haven't been able to really get excited due to this verbiage -still holding our breath!

My DS has had his application complete, a nomination, passed DODMERB and CFA, BGO interview complete, and has been sitting at 'complete pending review' since mid October. Anyone else in this same situation? Or any thoughts?

@Mom517 - my DD is the same, hers has been "complete pending review" since mid-Sept. She received a nomination from MoC a couple weeks ago, but it isn't in the portal yet. She had not heard from either senator yet. I'm guessing staff at USNA are enjoying their holiday and things will start happening in January. My daughter has decided to just be fine with not knowing anything until April. I'm a bit more anxious, haha!

I think a lot of us are in this situation. My friends are also at this screen. What I have been reading is that we are just gonna have to be patient for a while. There is actually a possibility that they have actually reviewed our application but won't be sending anything to us until they send everyone else's appointments. All of us candidates just have to relax and enjoy the rest of our final year of high school and make sure our plan B is set just in case

My son in same position; for USNA, USMA, and USAFA. Lol. He has very good numbers too. Just the way it goes.

I am in the same "boat" it would have been nice to hear something for Christmas. If patients is a virtue I guess we all have terrific morals. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
This is a great forum and am so glad it's here! Thank you.

DS was advised that he has been deemed triple qualified. So, we are waiting for some news.

You expressed the same worries I have

I truly believe that quite a bit of activities will resume in the CIS starting January-March as well.

Our DS also was notified by our congresswoman a couple of days before the nomination showed up on the CIS system.
