My nephew will be class of 2020 and playing football.
What can we expect this first year?
How can I help his Mimi get over him leaving...lol?

Buy "A Year in the Blue" on YouTube. One of the cadets they feature is a football player. My DS is in his second year and plays rugby, and I still bought it. For athletes bct can be a bit difficult especially if you're not prepared and used to being the star in your high school. Know that basic training is not easy but if you come in in top shape then you only have to worry about the mind games they play. Being a football recruit does not come with special favors. You will be treated the same as the other cadets except you will be able to leave bct for team workouts. Good luck and don't quit. Always remind him there is no other colleges that can guarantee you a degree and a job at the end of your 4 years then the service academies. Plus no student loans and they give him a $30000 very low interest loan when he signs in his junior year to do whatever he wants with.
