2020 Hopefuls

DD just finished and submitted her Candidate Activities Record, three things done, now onto waiting for the okay to take her physical. Things are moving along. I have to be honest, it was stressful watching her press the 'submit' button because there are no changes allowed. Oh boy, I need help :help: At this rate, I will never make it out alive...nothing about 10 bottles of wine won't cure! :biglaugh:
After you get 3 things done you get the DoDMERB?

Yes! That's what it says.
Where does it say that?
The portal.

I just read my entire portal and I can't find that anywhere, maybe it varies by the region a candidate is in. I have had 3 things for a while and I don't have the DoDMERB.

This is word for word from DD portal:
You will find these forms at the bottom of this page. If you fail to complete all these forms by the deadline above your candidate kit will be locked and you will not be considered for admission to USAFA. Additionally, once you complete three of the forms above we will forward your name to DoDMERB so that you can be sent information on how to schedule your medical exam. Do not call DoDMERB before you have done this. Ensure you have completed (or at least scheduled) your DoDMERB medical and your Admissions Liaison Officer interview by the deadline.

This is the USNA forum.

Oops! Sorry Frenzy, but aren't you applying USAFA too? I guess I will just have to keep my posts to my self :D

I'm currently an candidate for USAFA but right now I'm considering cancelling my application because I looked into the careers in the Air Force and they don't seem to suit me very well.

I am doing the application now and I had a question on one of the sections. For the candidate academic information is it better to have a teacher or counselor fill it out?

@Smarie - I may not be understanding your question but I recall that you fill out the Candidate Academic Information and your Guidance Counselor confirms it (you provide contact info for your Counselor and USNA contacts them with the info you provided).

@JShawshank theres that part and then theres another that they ask for just the contact info of a school official to fill out a part of the application (not a letter of rec)

My DD finished 2 of the items last Monday (19th) on the 22nd she was entered into the DoDMERB site and they sent out paperwork on the 23rd. She turned in a 3rd and 4th item Friday (not even aware that her DoDMERB (DoDMETS) was on it's way...She received her DoDMERB info on Monday, scheduled appointment for the 10th for everything. That all seems pretty quick to me.

Sorry for asking this question. When the student needs to do DoDMERB (DoDMETS) - the medical exam?
Will the students receive the request notification for medical exam after finish the online application? Or is it a separate application process to get the DoDMERB?

She followed the link on her portal...The DoDMERB had her sign in (? SS# and last name) and then her profile popped up and had dated info of her being entered into their system and then I'm thinking when they sent out her paperwork. Paperwork consists of who the Dr.'s offices that have been issued to her for her exams. You then have him/her call and schedule the appointment. I helped on the side, I didn't find this part of the process to be considered "helicopter mom". Medical Care is often still a know it all by parents, and I sat with her while she filled the paperwork out on line. Often she was unsure of what they were asking.

@soccer98
When your child has completed at least 50% of the required items like exam scores, candidate info or teacher rec etc then you will automatically be forwArded to dodmerb. Then dodmerb will mail you an information package which had the instructions for registering on the dodmerb web site. They will give you names of doctors and optometrist. You have to call them and set up the appointment with in 5 days of receiving this package. Then you need to log in to dirtbag website and complete your medical history and print it to take it with you to the physical. You are also supposed to enter the dates of your appointment in this portal.
The instructions are in the package you will receive. Good luck with the process.

My DS here in Texas has everything done except the CFA (going to try and do that right before they start contact in football so he will be in peak shape but not banged up yet). So here is my question. Has anyone heard from
DODMERB About scheduling a physical?
My son has everything completed but BGO interview. DODMERB physicals were easy peasy! We are in central Texas.

I have some questions regarding the DoDMERB. I didn't receive an email however I have a recent change on the status of it as it now provides a link to the dodmerb website . But I'm a little confused on where to go from here, as I haven't gotten a package in the mail or anything

Son has completed his app. Went to NASS. Went to CVW. Was invited to West Point and AFA summer, but we couldn't afford more than one, and West Point interfered with Boys State. He loves USNA. Stats: app done, dod med done and passed, BGO done, one MOC done. CFA Passed. Eagle Scout, #1 rank in class, 35/36 math/English on ACT. Letterman in two sports, wrestling and swimming. Two years of cross-country. One year he ran xc and swam in the same season. Student council, State scholar (top half of one percent of students in the state), AP Scholar with Distinction, club president, academic team all-district. He is getting phone calls from colleges now asking if he is considering them, but all he wants is USNA.
