Congratulations to all who got notified today! My DD is still boarded so the waiting game continues. Just curious, did anyone that was notified for this board apply as a nurse? Thanks and congratulations again!

Congratulations! Do you mind sharing which schools you were awarded and if it was a 4 or 3 year, I am really curious!

My DS won a 3 year AD last year. He is a nursing major. He was awarded on the 3rd board. Hang in there! I will never forget that day. He worked so hard in high school! He was so, so proud to get that scholarship. The work ethic has continued in college and he is in a good position to start nursing school in December.

...also, prepare your DD to work HARD in college. In his battalion, many who started with a nursing major don't make it because the prerequisites for nursing admissions are difficult. Getting the scholarship is just the beginning.

Thanks for your responses and congratulations to your son! Yes, she is well aware of the workload for nursing prerequisites and nursing school, I honestly think that is one of the reasons it attracts her, which is funny because it would be a reason I would not want to do it! We are hopeful for the 3rd board, but do have plan B in place. She has been admitted to her two top schools and have been awarded enough merit aid and tuition discounts to make them somewhat affordable, so regardless she will be going to school come August, be a pre-nursing major, and participate in ROTC. However, she would also be very proud to earn the scholarship, I think just having that validation would be amazing!
