I wanted to let everyone know that my son received an Army ROTC scholarship in the second round! We certainly learned a lot from this process including the importance of the fitness test and the interview. We also received great advice from LTC (Ret) Robert Kirkland, the former PMS at the University of Southern California. We purchased his book on Amazon (The Insider’s Guide) and took advantage of his consulting practice to help applicants like my son. It was a bit of a process, but the work paid off. The posts from clarksonarmy were also of great help. The advice during the chaos of the first round to “hang in there” put our mind at ease. The folks who wrote “you don’t have a chance if you don’t try” and “scores aren’t the only consideration” proved to bear fruit in my son’s situation. Keep up the good work and good luck to everyone as the third board results come in.
