So would someone who does a variety of sports, clubs, and community service activities be a prime candidate after are found scholastically qualified?

Leadership in a few (captain, president, etc) is better than being a participant in many.

Luigi is correct, leadership in a few will actually give you more points for the WCS than being in multiple organization with no leadership. Remember the goal for any SA is to breed leaders.
