    I was reading on previous posts that if a candidate is 3Q with a nom they have a 70-75% chance of appointment (100% if principal nom and 3Q). Curious if that is typically true and if there are any stats of how many candidates were 3Q with a nom last year and how many we're offer appointments? Seen that data before but not can't seem to find it now.

    DS is 3Q with 2 noms in competitive CA. Also read somewhere that Ca is one if the last states they appoint from when using the National pool because of the # of candidates.? Is that true?

    Trying to get a grasp on reality... Hoping for the best and preparing DS for the worst!

    crair70,

    Seriously, all you can do is sit back and relax. Things will start to roll in the next 1-2 months. It seems like you want someone to tell you one way or the other and unfortunately, no one here can. Recommend distracting yourself for the next few months otherwise this will drive you nuts.

    Heh, I like seeing parents that seem to stress out more about all the waiting. Jadler offers good advice, all you can do is try and keep busy and wait. Whatever happens, happens.

    I'm in SoCal. Applied for both Boxer and Feinstein nominations. Didn't even get a call for interview from either. But Congressman Dreier gave me the nomination. I got the appt three weeks later.

    USNA Nomination

    Just saw that I received a nomination to the Naval Academy. Arkansas-3rd district. I guess I just have to wait now.

    This is pasted from the USNA FAQ site, plus my commentary in RED:

    Are there any other qualifications necessary?

    You must:
    --be found scholastically qualified by the Admissions Board; = BOARD QUALIFIED
    --be medically qualified;
    --pass the Naval Academy's Physical Aptitude Examination (same for all the service academies); and

    The above 3 together are FULLY QUALIFIED, aka 3Q'd
    --receive an official nomination from one of many sources available

    When an applicant has all four, the shorthand is "3Q'd plus NOM"
