7 Sem Transcript Question

When's the deadline for 7th semester transcripts? Does West Point need it to make a decision/appointment? This week for me is mid-terms so I should get my transcript in late next week, that's not too late is it?

Hello!

I actually just sent a pdf of my grade report, and my portal has the 7 semester green check. I am sending the official transcript as well.

I too wonder if there's a deadline for my transcript to be sent in. Before they did their most recent update on the portal it said that they needed the transcript anytime from Jan. - May 1. But now that the portal has updated, it doesn't specify when the deadline is. Also, I took Calc BC this year and have a high C, which is a really low grade for me (normally all A's), so if the deadline isn't until May, should I wait to send it in, in hopes that they'll accept me before they see the low grade or should I just send it in now?

Beginning Jan. 1, 2014: 7th Semester Required
Beginning May 15, 2014: 8th Semester Required

Based on this I would assume 7th semester transcript is required by May 14th. Since that's 1st semester of your senior year, everyone should have it available by then.

Send it in now. One C in an AP class isn't going to be the cause of USMA withholding an offer of appointment, especially if the rest of your grades are A's. Your WCS will determine if you are offered an appointment.

Talked to a guy that used to be on the board of admissions, and is a grad, and he said the real reason they do it is to make sure you follow through at the very end of high school and continue to achieve excellence. That being said, he also told me if you have high grades usually, and you slip up or struggle with a certain subject, it is no big deal. The only problem is when you start to make a D or lower. But, this was said to me, with a 4.0 GPA. So if I make a C, then it is no big deal, but if someone who has a lot of C's, it effects them a little more in the grand scheme of things. So just continue to work hard, and don't stress it. But USMA doesn't like slacking. Finish the job!

Thanks for the advice! I'll go ahead and send it in. Even with the C, I'll still have a 3.9 GPA, so I think it'll all be fine, or at least I hope!

No problems most likely. A lot of people are in that situation. Tough classes and you get one less than great grade and drop down to a 3.9. Still good. No problem! :thumb:
