I'm filling out my nomination packet and have a question regarding the use of "N/A" in forms.

Under 'High School Education', it asks if I have been to any other high schools. Do I leave the lines blank or do I put N/A?

Also, there is a space for GPA. It says: Grade Point Average/Scale (4.0-12.0)

I have a 4.0 on a 4.0 scale, so do I write 4.0-4.0?

You put N/A since obviously there would be a follow up of what school and when?

For the gpa you put 4.0. They will have your transcripts so they will adjust it accordingly.

Out of curiosity, what state are you in that it has schools with a 12.0 gpa? The highest I have ever seen is 6.0.

I live in central Michigan. I've never heard of a 12 either. Maybe it's for a LOT of weighted classes.

Also, it asks for my three academy preferences. I only have one, so do I put the academy name and then "-only" or just leave it with 1 academy name?

Just place the AFA and that is it. Remember they can figure it out when you only have one SA that you desire nothing else.

For the 12.0, that would have to be ph.d weighted classes  I can tell you VA, NJ, OH and NC do not pass the 6.0 at the tops (AP 6, honors 5, std 4)

Wow. Ph. D? I guess my MOC has high expectations:wink:

Should I include a cover letter? None of my apps ask for one, but I thought it might add a nice touch..unless that's frowned upon.

ph.d was a joke because IMHO a 12.0 is insane. Maybe they meant 12 credits for college.

You can submit a cover letter, but it is not necessary, since it will probably end in the circular filing cabinet. If you decide to, make sure you do it in a correct manner, including a letter head. Also Keep It Simple! Just make it a few lines. I.E. here it is, thank you for your attention, if you need further assistance call XXX-XXXX. Don't weigh it down with a recap of your ap.
