Academic Disqualifying?

To my understanding, as long as test is done before 31 JAN, the scores count. Granted you may have to get get scores expedited to the said SA (USAFA, USNA, WP, USCGA, USMMA). This year the last test is the SAT, which the OP, may have not even taken yet. Good luck
This is what the candidate kit for USAFA says:

The SAT Reasoning test or the ACT is required for admission. If you have not taken either of these tests, you should take the ACT and/or the SAT Reasoning as soon as possible. Test results received by January 31st will be used to update your admissions file. SAT and ACT scores are only good for five years.

The Act/SAT is, simply, a test to see how well you can take a 4 hour test. Nothing more, and nothing less. Very sad to see that it may mean success, or failure, on judgement of anyone's future success at a SA. Those who have "figured it out" defend the test. Success is, in part, relative to ability to (shall we say) "invest" to do better. Does that make for a better future, or military? Nope.

Don't sweat it. Just do your best.

As long as the test is taken by 31 Jan, even if the results arrive later:

EOD/SEAL mom, your posted attachment comes from the USNA website. Can you find an equivalent type of post on USAFA? (Christcorp would know this also...).

I'm a bit confused why you quoted my post to say this.

Sorry about that! I'm not familiar with USAFA - just saw this on the "unread" and posted the same pic I'd posted to the same question about USNA. I'm guessing a candidate would be able to log into his/her app for the answer.

No worries....the OP is focused on USAFA and while SA's have many admission similarities, there are some differences. (e.g. ALO and BGO interviews are required but USMA does not always require a FFR interview).

I just have not been able to find a definitive and authoritative USAFA source pertaining to SAT/ACT exams taken before 1/31 but scores received afterwards.

@gokings814 i would agree with you on this... I cant imagine one SA allowing test results to arrive a bit after 31 JAN, as long as test was done BEFORE the cut off date; and another SA not allowing.

I have just heard back from my ALO who called Admissions earlier today. He said that they will accept scores past January 31st; however, I will miss out on certain selection boards. So to some it all up, yes, they will accept late scores.

That is strange.
1. selection boards have been meeting weekly since Oct. Thus, you have already missed out on a lot of them.
2. To my knowledge, NO MOC can be charged until ALL of the nominees on their slate have been reviewed. If you have yet to be reviewed than the others on the slate cannot be charged to the MOC yet. Thus, I am not understanding what your ALO meant that you will miss out on certain selection boards.
~ They can be appointed...i.e. USAFA knows historically that their WCS is high enough to win an appointment out of the national pool even if they ended up not being the highest on their MOC slate.

I am sure CC can clear up my confusion regarding what your ALO is stating.

The screen shot from jest implies they will accept them taken even after Jan as long as they receive them in time. Although it states they won't likely get them in time if taken after Jan.

It states that test results received by January 31st will be used to update your admissions file. I don't see how that implies that they will accept them after January. What are you reading that you think implies that they will?

If you read the screen shot it says 1/31 is when the dates must be in their hands. I am with frenzy. I saw nothing that says they will accept any scores on 2/1.
Hence, my question about the ALO.

Where is Flieger and Christcorp when you need them.

I know that file remains open until the end of Feb. MoCs must submit their slate by 1/31.

My best guess is they are saying, if all 10 on the slate for your MoC, on Feb. 1st they can start charging the MoC.

There is a difference between being appointed and charging.

From what I have always been told, your file is reviewed, but maybe not the way you think.
~ Let's say you were reviewed in Dec. You now have a WCS. Took the SAT/ACT in Jan. the only thing that will be re-scored is your ACT/SAT portion for the PAR portion of the WCS. The score for the new ACT is a flat out algorithm. They re-jig the new points for that PAR portion.

In the end it is a point score system. PAR is 60%. and the SAT/ACT is a % of that 60% They are not looking again at the whole package, they are just looking at the SAT % of the PAR % and how it impacts the WCS.

Lesak,
You need to move forward, but I am going to be brutally honest.
What is your plan B? I have not seen you on the ROTC forums.

Just asking, because May is right around the corner,
