Hello, I was wondering if anyone specifically has insight on whether or not the Academy thoroughly goes through essays when admitting candidates. From what I've heard, AROTC isn't the best at going through essays. Does anyone know if the Academy will have the opportunity to go through them all or any of them for that matter? O r do they maybe lean towards looking at a certain essay question over another? Thanks!

Do your best on all of them

To clarify, the reason why I'm asking this isn't because I'm looking to get around it. It's actually because, with at least the first essay prompt, I feel in my last paragraph at the end, what I went into was the single best piece of writing I've done in my life. As well, that I was able to express my true reasoning behind wanting to go to USMA very well and did good being persuasive, that I was more looking for assurance that it would be read by the admissions board if that makes since. Not looking to find that they aren't read so I don't have to try kind of thing.

I'm not sure for admissions but I know that your nomination essay is very important for the nomination at least. I believe they have teachers read the essays if I'm not mistaken but cannot confirm that, either way it will be read at some point and could be the difference in a close tie for a slot.

Thank you for your replies

Completion is the important part. West Point do read essays, but my understanding is that essays themselves don't have any point values. How many different ways can candidates answer the same question. However, good essays can get you noticed by the RC. I would focus on submitting your essays, as most RC looks unfavorably on candidates taking their time submitting their esssays, as they are the only thing that the candidate control 100%.
