Is tomorrow the deadline for appointees to accept their appointments (we have heard both 15 April and 1 May)? What happens if the Academy doesn't hear from the appointee by the deadline- does the appointment go to the next person on that slate?

Your packet should tell you when the deadline for you is.

My letter stated I had until April 15 (tomorrow). Granted I received it in January

We have a son at USMAPS who will be in the class of 2018 and a daughter who is next in line on a slate where the person above her was offered an appointment...but as of last Wednesday, hadn't accepted yet.

Her plan B is in motion, but she is anxious to hear one way or another from WP.

I assume that if the person ahead of her fails to accept the appointment, the offer will be turned over to her as West Point would take that as a no. But that would be a good question for @buff81 or your admissions reps/FFR's. I am no West Point official, but I would assume that West Point sets that deadline with good reason.

Yes, my letter also stated that no answer by the deadline is an assumed "thanks, but no thanks"

I couldn't go back and access my offer of appointment letter on my portal, but there ya go… That is what other posts suggest too. So cross your fingers, and hope for the best. Good luck!

IF your appointment Offer Date was before 17 March, then you have until 11:59pm TONIGHT (April 14) to accept or decline.
After that, your offer will be withdrawn.

Admissions posted on Facebook today that 920 offers had been accepted as of today. That jumped up quite a bit from the last time I saw a statistic. I guess that USMAPS offers are still to be made? Or are they already out? If not, those 200 or so, when made and accepted, would just about fill up the class. Correct?

It looks like offers to Prepsters have not been made as of today.

Sledge, one of the comments on the FB page stated Prepsters would be receiving their appointments on May 5th. If so, that suggests 2018 is just about filled.
