Acceptances for Summer Seminar Out

Accepted! Is anyone else going to SLE first? I am concerned about my luggage/laundry situation since the two sessions are back to back and I am from California...

It seems that those who applied early in the cycle and were available the 1st session heard early. I believe that they filled the first session prior to application deadline. I can only base this on how it worked with DS and feedback on forums last year.

DS is going to both back to back. Where are you staying in between?

I'll be going to the second session of SLE, coming home to Girl's State, then turning right back around and going straight to the third session of NASS. I'm trying to figure out airline tickets first before I even begin to think about luggage.

Most hotels will have laundry facilities so you should be ok there. Bring some detergent and worst case you can wash in your sink.

Our son learned how to wash clothes in sink at SLE. At least he got something out of AWP:)

I will be attending Girl's State then leaving from GS to Annapolis. Then, I'll come home (Arkansas) for two days.. Take the ACT on the 11th then board a plane right after to end up in CO for USAFA's SS. Oh and then compete at Beta Nationals in New Orleans the next week. What a fun June, Can't wait! Good luck to everyone.

The BGO that our DD will be interviewing with called yesterday and said that he had just spoken with admissions. He said that he was told that NASS acceptance communications would be coming in batches. One batch came out yesterday and the next batches will come out about every 2 weeks until mid April. So if my math is somewhat right there could be about 4 more batches yet to come.

So NASS takes 2550 participants which is double and half more than SLE (1000 participants) and about five times more than the USAFASS (500 participants).

Why does the USNA have more than double the amount of entering appointees? Is it to bolster their acceptance ratings?

(Not that I'm complaining, because I assume it is not the taxpayers' money since the NASS attendees have to pay for the program.)

USCGA takes just under 600 over the 3 weeks of AIM. Seems that the total numbers for Navy and Coast Guard are about twice their projected class size

Perhaps it has to do with the fact that there are 3 sessions of NASS and only 2 sessions of SLE and SS at Air Force? This is just a guess.

Lots of kids going to several it seems. DS is going to SLE, then NASS, then home for Boys State (we hope), then USAFASS. And maybe AIM at USCGA in July. I'm going to miss him.

Wow, that's a busy summer. The fact all of those line up is incredible! Last year I had a conflict with just about every SA summer program so I just skipped applying. Best wishes for the Boys' State

He is lucky it all worked out. He did his best to plan them out in advance and things fell into place.

hey guys, congrats again to all those accepted to NASS! do you think that I won't get into NASS because i was offered a CVW? i know NASS acceptance/denial has no impact on academy admissions, but i am really looking forward to hopefully attending NASS

CVW and NASS are two totally different animals. Being offered one won't preclude the other.

CVW is like a campus visit. NASS is an orientation/recruitment program.

@USNA21hopeful -stay hopeful, my friend. You're still in the running until you're told you're not.

Did any one of you get an invite to the Feb/March 2016 CVW **before** you got your 2016 NASS Acceptance news ?

DD is going to CVW next week. Despite what is stated, (This IMHO), I pretty much feel that a later NASS invite to her would be, to some degree contingent on how her visit goes ;>
(that's how I would run the NASS invites, LOL )
Yes, I was invited to the Feb. CVW and received my NASS acceptance email.
