I know there are bound to be acceptances already for 2014 (might as well be full all I care, since I'm already making plans for either a ROTC or the USMMA) but I would still like to know if I'm in a good position right now as it states that I am a candidate before I got a nomination even though i have below competitive grades.

What date do the acceptances cease?

Thanks.

ummmm; considering that the bulk of appointments doesn't even go out until next month, I don't know what you're asking? And they'll keep giving out appointments until usually until April. With leftovers; because of people turning it down, going out all the way up until June.

A total of 63 people on this forum have been offered appointment so far!!!!! This does not mean they have accepted their appointments just that they have been offered. I know of at least one who was offered an appointment to both the Air Force Academy and Navel Academy and he choose the Navy over Air Force. If you want to check out the who, their states, dates appoinments were offered, etc. , check out the Time for the Appointment Thread.
As far as if you are still in a good spot, the answer is yes. The majority of people aren’t offered appointments until mid-March. However, I have heard stories of people being offered appointments a week before I-Day. So, you aren’t in a bad spot. The majority of the class of 2014 hasn’t been offered appointments yet or at least a few hundred. You have until May 1st to make your decisions on most other colleges. So, hold on at least until Mid-April before accepting an offer elsewhere. If you truly want to go there, then the Academy is worth the wait.
I am still hoping on being offered an appointment and I won't give up hope until May 1, at around 4:00 when I mail my accepted offer to one of the other colleges I have applied to. Hopefully with an Air Force ROTC scholarship but who knows. All you can do is pray, hope, and enjoy your senior year. You could even call the admissions office explain the situation and politely ask for an extension on the deadline.
