Accepted to Summer Seminar!

Did everyone else get an acceptance letter? I never received one lol.
 
I never got one either. Maybe it was because I checked the status page everyday and hit "accept" before they got the chance to send one :shake:.
 
I never got a letter either; however, I did get an e-mail. Which I of course checked on my phone in school the second it came through, and accepted it seconds later :thumb:.
 
My son never got either - a letter or an email. Only way we found out was through this thread to check the status of his online application.

We did get an email telling us they had received our payment.
 
I just recieved a payment confirmation email today. I submitted all of the forms except for the travel info. Are you going out the day of, or earlier? I think I will be going out a day early, just in case of canceled flights and other unforseen incidents.
 
My plan right now is to go out a day early, but I'm not sure yet...it depends on what happens with my school finishing.
 
you'll probably have to arrange your own transportation and lodging if you arrive earlier, though, because last year the Academy sent cadets and buses to pick us up from the airport.
 
The information we received with it had a hotel right off the academy ground that you could arrange transportation to the day before (I don't recall if you had to pay extra), and had a time that they would pick you up the first morning and bring you onto the Academy. It also said they would accept students under the age of 18.

My son will be flying out the day of so we're hoping for the best. He'll be coming back from the West Point Seminar on Friday, so we're trying to have him get as much rest as he can before flying out Monday morning!
 
that's great! it'll be fun for him to stay at a hotel by himself, i bet. i like they are offering more options - i dont think they were there last year.
 
I applied late to the summer seminar... like 2 weeks ago. How long did it take before you found out about getting accepted? Thanks
 
I got my acceptance e-mail about 6 weeks after applying. good luck, hope ya get in!
 
Hey I got my acceptance letter to USAFA SS today...wahoo!!!

What session are u guys going to?

I applied on Jan. 28 and I got my acceptance on Feb.13 ...so about 2 to 2.5 weeks?

I applied in mid-January and just rec'd acceptance email on Friday (13th). I'm going to the 3rd session!!!!!!!!

I just got accepted too. I got the email on friday the 13th (not so unlucky I guess) and I am planning on going to session C.

Hi! I'm going to session 3...

does anybody know where i can get cheap airplane tickets? My parents refuse to support me in this endeavor of mine...so I have to pay out of my own pocket...so any little info on cheap airplane tickets is great...o...and i'm flying from LAX (los angeles) :)
 
Frontier and Southwest are cheap, from what I've experienced, but go to kayak.com for the most extensive search (140+ websites) of all airlines.

I want nothing more than to go to the USAFA and I applied to the summer seminar but it's been over two months and still no word. I'm worried and I'm wondering if you or anyone else who got in can post or send me their basic resume contents so that I can see how well I compare and how much i need to improve. It would mean a lot to me, thanks.:smile:
