Accepted!

Who else wrote you additional rec letters? Did they reveal anything outside of what your application showed? Contemplating this

97133M, I live in Rhode Island! We do have the NAPS located in our state, which is (of course) inside of the Naval Station Newport base. Thanks so much! So excited!

And LakeErie, I submitted three additional rec letters. One, like I said, was from the Navy Captain. The other was from a professor at a local college that had gotten to know me. Finally, the last one was from a retired Army Officer, who was my teacher in 10th grade. Hope that helps!

And now the preparation for Plebe Summer begins....

Ready to push yourself physically and mentally?

I`ll be looking forward to hearing about your experiences as a Midshipman! Will be some insightful advice to those of us who have yet to venture into the process of applying for and trying to become one of the "coveted few".

LakeErie, I totally forgot to answer the rest of your question! The letter from the Navy Captain really delved into my character and drive and my development throughout the years. My retired Army officer recommender talked about how I had only had the opportunity to attend one high school per year, and how I adapted to that situation; how I made the most out of it. Finally, the professor attested to my academic ability and my perseverance to seek opportunities outside of the normal. Hope this helps!

And 97133M, I appreciate all of your motivation and enthusiasm! I am honored and privileged to have received this opportunity, and I look forward to maintaining myself and making myself stronger throughout this next year! I promise to continue to be a part of this forum and to post every piece of the pertinent information and detail when necessary!

Appreciate it, wings! Question: Will you be trying for aviation, since your username is "wingsofhonor" or what? Just curious.

One high school per year? I don`t understand. If it`s a personal situation, you, of course, don`t have to share, but what do you mean by that?

Haha you guessed right! I really want to fly! :)

And my father is in the military, so every year he had a "change of station." Sorry for the lack of clarity!

Ah, that makes perfect sense! What branch was he in?

And flying, awesome! I want to branch into Marine Aviation.

Hey Wings, Congrats!!! Looking forward to seeing you on I Day. Got My appointment as well.

My dad is in infantry. He was one of my inspirations that led me to my desire to serve! And that's so cool! Maybe I'll see you in the sky sometime? :thumb:

Heavenly dads (AND moms!) are impossible to beat. For most, likely THE most valuable chit in this process. :thumb:

Give thanks for great Parents.

And give ours to your dad for his service to defend our freedom and safety!

Yes sir! My parents have been my primary source of motivation and support. I remember the initial spark I had that inspired me to pursue a career in the Armed Forces. My father was taking part in a brigade pass-and-review and I was only in Elementary School. I remember the day as vividly as I do yesterday!

I truly appreciate your thanks! I will be sure to pass the message on!

sister*
maybe, i'm going to wait to hear back from other academies and visit annapolis a couple more times!

My apologies! I am sincerely sorry! There is no way to hide my embarrassment in messing that up.

That is the right thing to do! Congratulations again on your appointment! God bless!

you're fine! are you applying anywhere else?

Thanks! :D

And yes! I did decide to apply to a few more schools. When I received my appointment, I cut my college list down tremendously. I decided to apply to a few reach schools that have always been big figures throughout my life. Still, right now, I feel that the Naval Academy is where I belong, so my heart is with it.

How about you? If I may ask. :)

I'm also applied to USMA and USAFA. I was introduced to the academies very recently and did not have a preference when I completed my applications. As for civilians colleges, Duke and UNC Chapel Hill are my reaches.

Great choices! My brother actually got in to Duke back in his day! Wonderful opportunities there! I can't believe I forgot USMA and USAFA. Forgive me! And for me, the reaches that I'm applying to are Yale, MIT, Cornell, and Berkeley. Thank you for sharing!
