Thank you very much for the encouragement! They are all shots in the dark, just as the USNA was. However, the best way is to put your best foot forward! That's the philosophy with my college list! The USNA was a dream for me and to have received that offer of appointment means the world to me. Those Ivies have also been prominent figures, but are still shots in the dark! Please keep me updated! I've sent you a private message and a friend request! Again, congratulations on your offer of appointment! My heart is with you and your family in this celebratory period!

Hey wingsofhonor, this may not be on-topic, but when you get to the Academy, can you tell me what extracurricular there are on-campus?

In particular, I really want to know if they have a swimming pool.
 
Yes they have a swimming pool. The swim team uses it and they use it for swimming tests that everyone has to take. Whether anyone can use it just to swim for leisure, I couldn`t say. This might be of some help: http://www.usna.edu/extraact.htm.
 
There are several pools around campus at Navy. Lejeune Hall is the large swimming and diving complex that the swim and dive teams use for practice and competition. You will conduct the majority of your swim classes there. Macdonough Hall houses Scott Natatorium which is home to Navy Water Polo. The Water Polo team often uses these as well at Lejeune Hall for some games. These facilities are open for Midshipmen use at various times of the day. It will vary based upon team competitions and practices. The schedules are generally published. If you use google you can find pictures and information about all the athletic facilities at Navy.
