I was recently awarded an Army ROTC Four-Year Scholarship and I just recently signed the notification of intent this week and scanned it and emailed it to Cadet Command. My question is, how do I know that Cadet Command has received my notification of intent through email?

I checked on my online application status page but the only thing listed is that I have been awarded a scholarship. The deadline to accept the scholarship is March 3rd and I just want to make sure that Cadet Command has received my notification of intent so that I don't lose the scholarship.

Thank you in advance for your help!

When my son sent his in, they sent him an e mail the next day confirming they received it from him.

my son e-mailed and faxed the acceptance back. E-mail again and get a read receipt. I would also fax it and get a confirmation that the fax was sucessfully sent. Check your status about 24 hours later and you should be good to go. Congratulations and best of luck in your adventure.

Good question. I am struggling with getting this set up right now as well. I sent it weeks ago and nothing. The civilian cadre at my unit even emailed me, urging me to accept my offer or it will be lost. I concluded that it got "lost" and so it puts me in a bad and somewhat embarrassing place.

Thankfully, I planned for this! I made 3 copies of everything in my scholarship winner packet. When I sent my letter, I obtained a certificate of mailing from the post office. I have faxed my letter this morning, and have the official receipt as well. So, if push comes to shove, and the army messes it up to the point that the deadline passes and they don't have it processed, I have 3 lines of proof to show that I have sent it. Paperwork wins any battle!

So will it show up on our portal if they process it?

Once my son's intent to accept the four-year scholarship was received by cadet command, it was annotated on his portal.

We emailed the ROO at the University to update him on his status in the process (acceptance, medical appointments, etc.). He confirmed his acceptance and answered a few other questions we had.

This is your big chance to make contact with the ROO if you haven't already. Give her/him a call or shoot them an email and ask to confirm that your acceptance has been posted (even if you already know it has). Us ROOs get lonely if we don't hear from our scholarship winners, and nothing brightens my day more than having one of my future cadets give me a call to let me know they are still interested.

Or you can just keep stuffing things in a fax machine and hope for the best.
