Is is true that the academy puts more emphasis on the Math and English scores of the ACT or is this something false I heard...

I always thought it was Math and Science, since all cadets will take plenty of calculus, chemistry, physics, etc. no matter the major. It will be interesting to see if someone knows the real story!

I'm not sure, as for USNA, I know they only consider math and english, as for USAFA, I honestly have no idea.

If you look at the AFA website, it states a 24 ACT or 490 SAT for Verbal will be deemed non-competitive for admission purposes.

So yes, English matters.

In the end, what will matter is the scores. The avg for SAT M is @680, V is @650. I think ACT is 31. Those are the numbers you want to shoot for.

Remember some kids do well on both, some do better on one compared to an another. Take both and often, because they superscore.

They will not take the best M SAT and blend it with the ACT E. Superscore is best SAT total compared to best ACT total, which ever is better is the one that they use for PAR.

Also, remember SAT/ACT is only a part of that PAR, gpa, rank, school profile also get placed into the mix.

Good luck
