Does the AFA need the writing portion of the ACT?

I believe they had stated somewhere last yr that for the first time the ACT writing portion must be included, but at that time it was not a part of the PAR score.

Ten will get you twenty is that they want the writing included because if they change it mid-yr, every applicant/candidate will have it, if they don't change it is no harm, no foul since the traditional universities require it and if you have the AFA on your collegeboard list, they would send all of the scores anyway because you took it. Additionally, it will be on your child's transcript, thus they will see it.

This is not a situation where you say better to ask for forgiveness than permission. It is better to hand them all of the pertinent academic information even when in doubt. You don't want to look at the on-line application and "see missing info", than scratch your head wondering what is missing, causing a round of phone calls to the ALO first, then to the RD and raising your stress level, especially since it will cause more rounds of phone calls to collegeboard to send them to the AFA at best, at worst it will cause you to wait at least a month so your child can re-take the ACT, but this time with the writing.

Thanks

Thanks Pima. DS signed up for ACT w/Writing just to be sure.
