    Hello all,

I'm new to these forums, but I've used its ocean of resources to help me complete my application. This past Monday I received an LOA pending my DoDMERB clearance. This should be no problem, as I've already been cleared by MEDPROS at my base. I'm currently a 25s stationed in Fort Gordon and was told by my admissions officer that I'm one of the first to receive notification.

I wanted to say thank you for the latent help and support of all associated with SAF and to encourage any other active duty service members out there to pursue candidacy. This is a phenomenal opportunity and I cannot wait to begin classes.

Does any prior here know the protocol with PCSing to West Point? I'm currently scheduled to PCS to Yongsan, South Korea in February, but my CO seems to think I will not be going. Does anyone have any insight as to where I'll be heading/what I'll be doing from February to July?

Congrats! I'm a 19D stationed at Fort Benning and my file is complete except for the Cfa results (which should be in soon). Is an LOA typical for prior service personnel or is it just for a select few? My AO has been very encouraging and I'm as anxious as everybody else is, so when I read your g ood news I wondered what the SOP was. Does anybody know?

I recommend that you contact the Soldier Admissions Officer ASAP regarding this.

West Point generally cuts RFOs in the Spring to send Soldiers to West Point which would be after your expected PCS which is the reason for the hurry.

Greatdane, I cannot speak with any authority on the subject, but I have been told LOAs are very rare for the class of 2017. However, I've also been told that admissions works a bit different for priors, especially in regards to getting soldiers early notice to help ease any issues springing from their CoC.

GoArmy, that will probably be my next step - I'm just waiting on DoDMERB to officially clear me so I don't jump the gun. My question was really just trying to get a sense if there was already a precedent set for this.

InHoc, Thanks for your answer. I hope you are correct as the paperwork could be a challenge to get processed in a "timely manner"...It sure would be nice to know early. Good luck to you!

Good luck with DoDMERB. Can't wait for the news that you received your appointment. I would update the Soldier Admissions Officer every two weeks just to keep him informed and to stay up on his radar.
