Adjustments to Accessions Points?

The way the accessions points dropped was explained to me is that Cadet Command wanted to base the scores off of a 100 point scale rather than 101.5 (or whatever it is), thus everyone's scores (in the whole nation) had to be dropped. Cutoff this year will be lower in years prior, but it is all relative because there are less points to gather. It equates all out in the end. Also, my PMS told us that they will be cutting between 300-500 AD slots this year.

Still doesn't make a lot of sense. If CC wanted to lower the max points by 1.5, why the drop of 10 points.

It will be interesting in regard to the 300-500 less AD slots, is this taking into consideration the new Guaranteed AD for certain majors with ADSO, or are these just added to the AD slots. If they are truly decreasing the numbers by 300-500 and then add in the guaranteed AD slots, this could mean an even lower number of AD slots for those that don't meet the new Major requirements.

Boy, it's enough to make your head spin. I guess you'll all find out soon I hope.

I talked to my son to my DS to see if he had heard anything regarding a large across the board point reduction and he had not heard anything. In his BN right before the packets were sent in most members, including himself had their total adjusted up! My DS had his score bumped to a 96 from a 91.5. If any other changes were made after that, neither he or any of his colleagues were made aware. I guess with the Govt. Slowdown over we will see soon enough.

Was speaking to some MSIV's; and they were saying they dropped 10 points too - which was due to the previously mentioned of having the #1 cadet having no more than 100 for their OMS.

It still makes no sense to me. I they wanted to max out OMS points at 100 instead of 101.5, why not just subtract 1.5 points from everyone, rather than 10?.

Does the #1 cadet have 101.5 OMS? I was told that said cadet had 110 OMS, hence the 10 point drop.

Last year the perfect score was 101.5.

With all the changes coming from CC, who knows this year.

(guitarist Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap explains his amplifier)

Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
Marty DiBergi: I don't know.
Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: [pause] These go to eleven.

And there you have it. Everything explained in Parent Delahanty's usual witty way.

I'm still a little lost with the whole point drop situation but hopefully we will find out soon and Im praying my 83 points is enough to carry the mail...
