Hello all,

Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. Earlier this year I was determined medically qualified for USNA. After I was determined qualified I got a minor knee sprain during the football season. Within a month after the injury I was able to practice full contact in practice, and then I played the rest of the season with no problems at all. Will this adversely affect my medical status?

Did you see a doctor other than the trainer? If you did do you have all the records that say you are cleared for full contact? If the answer is NO to the first one then don't worry about it unless you have lingering pain or weakness in the knee. However, the best thing to do is to contact DODMERB and ask them. They will let you know exactly what you need to do. My DD has a shoulder injury and requires surgery (in two days) and they assisted her and she already has a waiver from the AFA pending positive results from the surgery. Despite what some say, DODMERB is there to help get you qualifed. Just ask.

If you had a minor injury that has healed completely without much medical intervention (in other words, you didn't get surgery or need extensive rehab) then I would say you are in the clear.
