Hey guys! I just got this email today from AF Detachment 045--which I have never been in contact with before--and I'm still waiting for news from Stanford (I know news comes out super soon but I am dying of nerves here). I called and left messages for the two flight commanders at the detachment because I am unclear abut what exactly this email means....I'm not sure if it indicates good news, or is just standard practice. Someone help interpret while I wait for response! Here's the text of the email (it was sent to undisclosed recipients from the Detachment 045 Mailbox and I was bcc'd):

Hello and congratulations on being selected for an Air Force ROTC scholarship. You have shown to be an outstanding candidate for becoming an Air Force Officer. I am writing you because you were offered a scholarship at Stanford, Santa Clara, San Jose State or UC Santa Cruz. I would like to invite you to contact Captain Willis Hudson (willis.hudson@sjsu.edu) our Recruiting Flight Commander or myself if you have any questions. I know many of you are still waiting to receive acceptance letters but feel free to contact us with any questions. Good luck on the upcoming news and continue to study hard as you culminate your high school experience.

Very Respectfully,

Nicholas Carnovale, Capt, USAF

This sounds like great news! Let us know what you hear! You may be the only poster on the forum that was awarded an AF ROTC Scholarship from the 3rd Board.

(I assume you met the 3rd AF ROTC Board? -- the one that convened 16-20 March 2015 with results due out today)

Thanks Falcon A! Unfortunately, I was not accepted to Stanford, but I am of course very excited about all the other universities I have so far been accepted to and the AFROTC scholarship--and I am still hopefully waiting for several more responses!
