AF ROTC Enrollment Allocation Results

If it is true I don't see why they keep delaying the announcement >.< then again tis just a rumor.

Apologizing for the double post but:

Ive been hearing some weird things. Didn't want to mention this since I'm most sure that its a rumor but one of the POC's I had a meeting with earlier today mentioned that the result were already out and that there was a 94% acceptance rate this year compared to the 95%? last year.

Why wouldn't they tell us if the results were already out? Lol

Maybe last minute adjustments? Budgets? Who knows..

Just hope the % is true!

That's awesome to know the dates, thanks for that info. Well I'm a 200 and we had class today, and our Commander informed us that there was a delay due to budget cuts. Our Commander says that 600 slots are being cut from 2100ish to a total of 1500ish, and making these cuts was causing the delay. However, they are trying to release the results this week still. My educated guess says Friday, if anything. I do have one of the ABM scholarships which allegedly guarantees a FT slot, but Im still anxious and hopeful for several of my classmates! Best of luck all.

Wow, if that is the case that would be quite a cut - almost 30%. That will really hurt....:frown:

It will be interesting to see how many of them will roll over to 500's.

Think about it, if they roll them over to 500's it will create a larger size for next yr. It maybe too large for them to handle, both in sheer numbers, and cost.

If they dis-enroll them, than it impacts the targeted ADAF numbers they are planning for FY 15.

Yeah our commander told us this morning that we will obviously not find out before the end of March and it definitely seems that slots will be cut. If anyone wants a more thorough list for AF Field Training 2013 I have a great list, as well as some diagrams that can be added to your FTMs.

FYI - The class of 2015 at USAFA is down to almost 900. The AF may need to increase their OCS commissioning in 2015 to meet the projected ADAF numbers.

This might also may be why AFROTC has been giving out ICSP scholarships at a higher rate than even 3-4 yrs ago.

However, it still doesn't solve the problem that the DOD budget will be cut next yr., and if they roll the 600 cadets cut to 500's, and keep the same number next yr of 2200 + the 600, that will be 2800 cadets. Thus, they will have to figure out the budget increase for SFT next yr. I would think housing won't be an issue because 2011 cancelled Max 6, and they had @2200, so they could just max out class sizes.

Back from LLAB. so its pretty much confirmed that around 600 slots are cut from the 2200 bringing it down to 1600 slots this summer.

Cadre has mentioned to us that results should (might) come out this Saturday and they'll either let us know next week or just call us (my detachment likes to make sure thoroughly by checking over and over again)

Seems they send packets of cadets that they thought had a high chance of getting EA's.

I'd be shocked if they release on Sat.

The AF likes to release in one fell swoop...AND on a duty day. They are not fans of the telephone line game....your friend at PSU found out, and you are UMiami. You now contact every 200 you know at UMiami, and they contact their friends at UNCCH, Notre Dame, ERAU to see if they heard anything. They than contact their friends at OSU, VT, UMDCP to see if they heard anything. They contact their friends at WVU, UVA, etc. Come Monday a.m. the cadre is living with cadets freaking out! See how fast it would go through the system, and that does not include social networking,

Thus, the reason they have a release date with a release time that is M-F.

Fay,

It has appeared that this has been done for this board and last board. The packets sent were ones they expected to get a slot.

If you look at 2010/11 they had 55% selection rate and 2100 cadets. 12 and 13 appear to have 95% and 2200.

The difference being the rate jumped because as you stated the packets sent up were basically going to get it. The lower rates were because EVERYONE went up. ADAF calls that mini-boards. The cadre decided by holding their own board.

The issue now for 13 is the 600 cadets cut. Will the AF make them 500's or dis-enroll them like 10 and 11.

I am betting they will become 500's.

In the end of the day this is out of everyone's hands...it is now about what ifs.

I will say this...looking back if you applied for an HSSP, you see that board as nothing now when it comes to SFT. In a yr from now when you become a POC, you will see SFT as nothing when you are up for AFSC.

Perspective. Belief. That is ADAF life. It will always be looking back and thinking why did I worry?

WOW, what a difference a couple weeks makes. We were talking about a 95% selection rate for 15 just a few weeks ago and now they are being cut another 30%. I know at my DS's Detachment they are already down to just 14 200's remaining in the program. Now compare that to 44 100's and you can see they had already reduced the 200's to the ones that they thought would make it. Interesting to see how this all shakes out and nervous about how this will impact my DS (16) next year. Prayers for all the 15's on the site and hope you make it.

Thank you FlyingWildcatDad. I am feeling quite stressed after hearing this, as I am very worried about DS making it this year. He is non-tech with about a 3.0 GPA, so I think I have a good reason to be worried....

I get the stress over the 30% cut, but deep breaths!

Remember they may decide to make those 600's 500's in AFROTC. In other words they will not be dis-enrolled, unlike previous yrs since 10. It is not what a cadet wants, but AFROTCHQ is not going to forget that sequestration occurred, AND AFMPC is still going to rely on those cadets to commission from a manpower need in ADAF.

Look at what Agagles posted the AFA is at 900 for class of 15. Hit AFROTC too, they will really have to rely on OCS. They can't predict how many will apply for OCS next yr for 15, nor the quality of the candidate.

Don't start thinking that this yr is like any other previous yr. Don't assume they will be dis-enrolled. It is a unique yr.

Yep, we were told 2100 cut to ~1500. All of us just looked at each other and had the fear of god in all of our eyes. This delayed announcement stuff is really screwing up our training gates since we start on more in depth stuff once EA's drop. Ugh. It's not even suspense anymore. It's just pure frustration. Hopefully we will know sometime next week.

One thing to keep in mind. My son's detachment last year had 15 candidates for Summer Field Training and 13 were accepted. This year they have 8 candidates.

I am sure you are frustrated. I bet Monday will be the day. As you stated there is a lot to do for those selected, especially if you look at it from the perspective the 1st SFT will start 6 weeks later. Plus, many cadets will start finals in 3 or 4 weeks, which they need to study for too.

Just remember, they get that your yr group is unique. They get there are going to be hiccups due to such a late release date.

This will not be your last time of frustration....just wait until you are a 400 with 1st assignment report dates. I.E. our DS's report date moved 4 times. The 1st date was 2 weeks before graduation. The 2nd was 3 days after commissioning...with a 4 day travel. The 3rd was Aug. and that was pushed back in July to end of Sept.

This is part of the life. Sometimes you just have to laugh at it.

OBTW when our DS's results were released and he was part of the yr groups that had 55%. The night before all cadets got a call. The det. brought them in to the det in 2 groups at 2 different times. They brought those not given a slot, in earlier, and gave them the day off from LLAB. Some dets do this to soften the blow. They know those that get the slot will be excited, that this will be the talk, they don't want those kids having to hear the others rejoicing and constantly saying I didn't get it.

The DAY off LLAB? Shoot, there's exactly 0% chance I'd go to another LLAB without a FT slot.:shake:

Been watching these forums for a while and finally registered.

No updates today as of 0900.

PIMA - I was curious to see if you knew what they do for cadets that are AS200's, but don't graduate until FY 16 because of a 5 year degree program. How do they look at those cadets compared to those who are supposed to commission in FY 15? Out of my AS200 class we have roughly 4-5 people who will be graduating in FY 15 and the rest won't commission until FY 16.
