My son registered for the Summer Seminar and it seems as though he now has a AFA application on file. My question is this: This cannot be the entire application? Is there another part that becomes available at some other time? He accessed his AFA application (not the SLS) online today thinking that he would begin writing whatever essays are needed and there doesn't seem to be any available. Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yeah, remember that the summer seminar application also serves as the PRE-candidate questionnare. Sometime in June another application will open up to those who's pre-candidate questionnaire is considered competitive!

Thanks KveTina! His application says "competitive" now but I don't suppose that will mean anything in June.

    Application

Yes, there is more to come. The second part of the application is based on official sources for your information. The first part is what you report to them. The summer phase of your application will include physicals, transcripts, SAT, complete junior transcript, recommendation letters, etc from official sources.Make sure however to continue your congressional nomination applications as that is separate of USAFA application. Lots of paperwork and travel but in the end well worth the effort if appointed. My son received his appointment and was deserving BUT I feel for the candidates and their families that went through the year long process and came up short. Credit should be given just for completing the process and getting a nomination! That is a feat within itself. This is so much more difficult than applying to State U.

Thanks Sunshine92. It seems the only things my son can do now is:
    Start applying for noms
Take / retake SAT / ACT
Get ready for the PT evaluation
Begin the AFROTC application (Plan B) in May
