AFA QB granted 9th Semester?

Watching the AF-Mich game, did I hear correctly that QB Connor Dietz was granted an extra semister at AFA because he had a ankle injury as a Doolie? My DD also hurt her ankle Plebe year; they offered crutches but adding an extra semister was never mentioned.

But, FB is not all that important at SA's. :rolleyes:
 
Did perhaps this ankle injury cause Dietz to miss enough class time that he fell behind? If so he wouldn't be the first FB player or otherwise to be granted an extra semester. One could probably research this and get some facts.
 
According to THIS SITE it was actually to his hand. Of course it was his throwing hand (so it was also probably his writting hand so) think of all that classwork he couldn't get done.

I have no idea how to find information on how many athletes or non-athletes are granted an extra semester.
