AFROTC 3rd Board Hopefuls

We have not received anything in the mail yet either. Yesterday we found out DS had received a scholarship through the portal and today he received an email with the subject "Air Force ROTC Scholarship Presentation Offer." Had we not seen his portal change, the email would have been how we found out.

"The deadline for submitting your application has passed. All forms were due by January 20, 2012.

You have submitted all forms for review.

Your Air Force ROTC Scholarship interview has been received and processed. Your record will meet the next available selection board. You can check back here to find the results of the board. We will mail you a letter notifying whether or not you have been offered a scholarship."

Does anyone else still have this?

^yup.

My interview was Feb 1st or 2nd if that means anything.

My portal hasn't been updated either, and my interview was on 02/07. If you look on the bottom of the page where it says "track application", it says that data is uploaded at 9 Central and 3 Central, so 45 minutes! (Hopefully). I was looking at the mean SAT/ACT scores and I'm hoping that a 1340 and 31 are enough...

You are saying best sitting, not superscore when it comes to SAT/ACT, right?

My super-score is a 1390 (took it twice), but I scored the 1340 in my first sitting. My one and only ACT score was a 31. I regret not retaking it; I received a 26 on the science (I didn't realize that it's just interpreting graphs until the last 3 or 4 minutes) and that brought my Math/Reading/English down. Definitely could have hit the 33/34 range.

Fighting,

When did you submit your package. The system is First In, First Out. The later submitted, the more applicants in front of you.

Yeah I had a late interview too. It was Jan. 25 over the phone due to my interviewer's erratic work schedule. So this was the only board I was evaluated at. Didn't know about the boards until it was almost time for the 2nd board or else I would have submitted everything sooner. But I guess everything happens for a reason:wink:.

Still, nothing has changed on my application tracker.
I haven't received anything in the mail either.

To be honest I'm not sure, my interview was submitted in sometime in Feb. So you figure, finishing the application at the end plus the # of kids who finished they're applications around the same time = alotta applications to review.

I don't know how the process works, but if so many kids portals were already updated, I hope ours are updated soon too. But if we get no response in a week or so I guess our applications will meet the last board, which correct me if I'm wrong, but around March 27th?

I have been driving myself insane checking it constantly. I guess we will just have to wait. I wish the best of luck to everyone.

Those still waiting should check the Application Tracker ASAP! DS just texted to say his status changed to "Congratulations - you were awarded a scholarship...". No idea what Type yet tho but assume Type 7 since he requested a non-tech major...

Official letter (in letter-sized manilla envelope) arrived today, dated March 12. Type 7 for Spanish (which I believe was DS's 3rd choice). Deadline of 02 APR was given to accept/decline...

Ditto.
Except for any technical major.

Awesome! I called Maxwell and they told me that I'd be receiving a type 7 technical scholarship. Unfortunately though, the mail was already delivered to my house today and there was no sign of a manila envelope:frown:. I would have thought that, since I found out last Thursday and my state neighbors Alabama, I would have it by now. How close do you live to Alabama? (I THINK that that's where the letters are sent from)

Still haven't heard anything.

We are in Chicago, IL. Who knows with USPS...

DS interview was 1/12/12 - missed the 1/20/12 board by a smidge due to all paperwork not being processed. This Feb/Mar (3rd) board was the first one he met.

DS AFROTC Portal updated on Thursday (3/15/12) about 10:30am to "Congratulations".

DS received his AFROTC offer in the mail today (3/19/12) - (we are in TX, not very far from AL).

DS is being offered a 4 year, Type 1 with the major choices of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Meteorology, Nuclear Physics or Nuclear Engineering.
