Hello so I plan on reapplying to the AFA after being denied last year(class of 2018). The problem is right now I'm in AFROTC at the university I attend and wonder how the cadre here would view that. I know I will probably have to discuss my intentions with them especially as the process becomes more intense but at what stage do I tell them. Now? I'm just afraid they'll think poorly of me and rank me lower next year for FT, etc. Especially considering some of them are products if the program here. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

DS attends an SMC and there are always cadets in each service branch who reapply (or some apply for the first time) as ROTC freshmen. I know that they are treated with respect and support by all, as I am personal friends with the parents of two such freshmen, both of whom successfully applied (one USAFA, one USNA). Not sure if this is indicative of all ROTC programs/cadre etc. but thought I'd share what I know from one SMC.
