I just got an email from the AFROTC board from this week that I did not receive a scholarship. So if you were reboarded you should be notified now or soon.

Don't give up if ROTC is your dream. Most of the cadets in my son's detachment were not on scholarship. Also several received scholarships spring of their freshman year. Just do well in school and participate in the det activities and you still might get that scholarship.

Approximately only 16-18% of incoming freshmen will be contracted scholarship recipients. They are the minority, and as a 200, the board will not take into consideration for SFT selection if they or are not on scholarship.

Just saying to anyone that get the TWE, it has no bearing on what will happen the next 4 years as a cadet.

Take it from someone who was a mediocre student in high school, came into college and killed it my first semester, there's plenty of hope for you. I got picked up as a non-tech major on a Type II scholarship after my first semester in college. It's not the same each year and so many different variables and factors apply. Three cadets in my class got in college scholarships, 2 type II and one type I (he was tech). Hit the ground running as a great cadet (but not too annoyingly so) your freshman year, make sure your SAT or ACT scores are above average, and kill it on the PFA that fall. Best of luck to you bud, feel free to DM if you have questions.
