I'm doing AFROTC starting next month at Embry-Riddle and am kind of confused about the PFA. On the AF website it says that that "Cadets who are in the General Military Course (GMC), but not on a scholarship, must attempt the test but do not have to pass. Cadets on a scholarship and cadets in the POC must pass the test each fall and spring term." Does that include those on the 3yr scholarship that doesn't start until sophomore year.? If they do not pass the PFA the first time around, do they lose their scholarship even though it hasn't been activated yet? Also, when is the PFA administered? I know it's once every fall and spring semester, but when exactly during those semesters? At the end or beginning? Thanks for the help.

It's only when you are on scholarship, meaning during it. Also your det decides when to test during the time frame, ask them. Get in shape. It's frowned upon to fail any time.

I agree with Zero it is frowned upon at anytime. However, I will say that you should also think about it from the old cliche....1st impressions matter. At a det. like ERAU where they are very large with probably over 100 freshmen it takes them a while to put a name with a face. You don't want them in the case of failing the PFA or scoring close to failing as the way to put a name with a face.
