What do my chances look like for the 2013-2014 pilot selection:

AFROTC Cadet
FT: SP
PFA: 100
GPA: 2.8
Comm. Ranking: 3/13
PCSM: 88

I know as of last year the composite scores have changed around. Its now:
FT: 15%
PFA: 15%
PCSM: 40%
CR: 20%
GPA: 10%

If anyone could let me know what my chances look like that would be great! Thanks

There were others last yr with the same cgpa that got rated, some got pilot. Are you a tech major.

I have never heard SP for FT, DG yes, but what is SP?

As far as chancing, nobody can give you that answer, 1 because if they knew the answer, it is probably classified. 2 because there are too many variables.
~ How many cadets are requesting rated
~ How many pilot slots available
~ Mission needs ---Pilot, CSO, UAV or ABM regarding their shortages.

Good luck

SP = superior performer. Theres Top gun, DG, SP, 1/3, 2/3, 3/3. SP is top 20% of flight/encampment.

No i am not a tech major. However, im sure you know major has no influence on wether you get a slot or not.

Also, as of this year, the rated boards are all different. I guess if you want pilot the board automatically submits you, along with everyone else, into a pool and the top cadets get pilot, then rpa, then CSO, act. I was wondering of you knew anything about this?

Interesting, they have changed it. When DS went through it, it was DG, 1%, 10%, 20, 30, 50 and below 50.

The only difference between now and when he went through is all 4 will be ranked out on your dream sheet, whereas, when he went through they only placed 3 down, even though there were 4 option. You couldn't just place pilot or CSO, you had to place 3. you just had the option of the 3 you wanted to place.

The board is still the same, regarding selection. They know how many slots in each field is available, and draw a line above you are in, below, you could get your 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice depending on where you land. You could even get alt., which means you will go to the non-rated board next fall since you don't have a slot. DS's class mate got UAV 30-45 days out from graduation because he was an alt.

They need alt. because once selected for rated you need to pass the flight physical which is different than the exit physical for non-rated cadets. Some never get waivers, and they now come off the alt. list.

Do they still allow cadets to request ENJJPT?

yes, ENJJPT is still an option and i will be applying for it. A cadet from my det got an ENJJPT slot this year and will be leaving soon.

Thanks for the responses btw.

If he is only leaving now, this is something to remember...assuming he commissioned in May, the past 7 months he did not get any pay because he is not ADAF. If he took any student loans, the grace period is 6 months, so prior to reporting that loan will be due.

If you have not heard they will waive IFS for students with a PPL now. If you get pilot, you may want to get a PPL. It is one less stressor in your life as a UPT student. It is expensive, and you need to decide if it is worth the cost.

The one question you have not answered is are you a tech major? Every point matters, and as we all know 2.8 tech is not the same as 2.8 non-tech. I also hope if you are tech, it is not EE or nuke, since those majors are considered critical manning, and than with your stats I would say chances are slim.
