I'm board ready for the next AFROTC scholarship board date. I was just wondering that if I don't get it this board, do they just throw out my application or will my application get pushed to the next board date to be reviewed again?

You will keep being reboarded until there are no more boards. Im not sure how many are left, but I believe there are three.

That is not actually true. There have been posters after the first board that already received the....We are sorry, but unfortunately we are unable to... letter.

Some, even many will be reboarded for a simple reason that HQ has decided that they will probably receive a scholarship, but unsure of which type. IE you may be on the cusp between a type 2 and a 7 or a 7 and nothing, thus they want to see a larger pool. However, it is important to realize that only @16-18% of all applicants receive a scholarship which means many will not be reboarded because by the second board they will have a very strong picture from historical data what would the bottom score needs to be at on the WCS to get a type 7, hence increasing the likelihood that being reboarded is not going to occur.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but I don't want posters and lurkers to believe it is a given of reboarding.

I agree with PIMA. See thread at this link from 25 Dec 2014: http://www.serviceacademyforums.com...ed-for-scholarship-no-reboard-question.40723/

Competition is fierce. The data from the 18 Dec 2014 thread below showing the stats from some of the AF ROTC first board "winners" as well as the overall stats on page 2 of the thread from last year's 2014 AF ROTC process "winners" is interesting (Thanks again to PIMA for the 2014 data): http://www.serviceacademyforums.com/index.php?threads/afrotc-board-1-results.40637/

My DS met the first AF ROTC board in Dec 2014 and was not awarded an AF ROTC scholarship. However, he was told in the email from AF ROTC that he would be re-boarded at the 30 March 2015 board. The email did not mention anything about being re-boarded as part of the late January 2015 or mid-March 2015 AF ROTC boards. It was clear he would only meet the 30 March 2015 board, so I don't think it is a "given" for AF ROTC this year that even if you are put into the "to be re-boarded" status that you will be re-boarded at the very next board. Who knows, this year they may be putting everyone that is to be re-boarded into the 30 March 2015 board.

Interesting Falcon A.

Every year they tweak the way they board. This is the 1st year that I have read/heard that they will now have to hold tight until the last board.
~ Previous years it was reboarded meant until they made a decision it could come down.
