Hey, I'm also a USAFA Candidate for class 2015, but I'm also applying to ROTC scholarship as an alternative. Now, Im wondering if anyone here who is in the ROTC program, can give me some insight.

Here are just some stuff I'm wondering about:

- Navy, Air Force, or Army
- How much they actually offer in their scholarship (90.28 gpa, ~2050 SAT, I'm not sure if they take EC's into account for this)
- What kind of classes are required to take
- How is it like, how does it affect your college / civilian life

That's all I can think of for now, but any comments would be great.

Thanks in advance

I have a similar question, but I am in college and was wanting to apply for an AFROTC scholarship as well. Where do people who are already in college go to apply?

You can ask here, but I think you'll get more answers if you back up a level; where all the academy forums are, and look down the page. You'll find an ROTC section. (You might have already posted there, I don't look there much). But there are a lot of knowledgeable people with the ROTC information. Best of luck. Mike....

Cool thanks, I'll make a separate post in that section. But for candidates who want to primarily attend a Service Academy but just applied for a ROTC Scholarship as an alternative, do they need to apply just like an individual who's only going for ROTC Scholarship without any interest in the Service Academies? Would the scores and papers we send to the Service academies also account for our ROTC Scholarship application as well? Or we just have to send the whole deal all over again?

They are separate processes (or at least they were 5 years ago).

Only things we found that worked for both were that our ALO was also my son's interviewer for AFROTC so he just submitted the evaluation without having to do a second interview. And the Dodmerb exam obviously worked for both. But everything else had to be done separately.

Everything except DoDMERB needs to be done again. My son had 6 interviews. AFROTC, NROTC, AROTC & USAFA, USNA, USMA. Even the PT test needs to be done again (different test than the CFA). 6 transcripts, 6 SAT reports ect..
Good luck!:thumb:
