AIM Program dates

I am just wondering - I looked through threads and searched for the answer but I did not see it - does anyone know if when you are selected for AIM, you can choose which of the 3 dates you go. Or at least prioritize your preferences. I was just wondering. Getting selected would be great regardless but I was just wondering if you get to choose or not. Not a big deal either way, obviously, but I was just wondering. Thanks.

On the application, you select your preferred dates. DD#2 was only available for one of the three weeks, and she was able to indicate that. She was selected to attend that week. Remember that the AIM application is a little more in-depth than the other SAs, as it requires, in addition to essays on your part, a letter of recommendation from your school counselor and an official high school transcript. Also, you are able to have two additional letters of recommendation submitted on your behalf by your choice of recommenders. This is a great chance to have others who know you well write a letter for you. Good luck!

Yes, you can select your date. When my D received her decision letter through her Bear's Den portal, there was a place to click in the letter, and it takes you to the registration page to let them know you accept and where all the forms are, pay your tuition, apply for scholarship, etc., and then you can choose your date in your My Events tab. And if you don't happen to be selected for AIM, don't let it get you down. My DS wasn't, and is in the Class of 2017. He ended up doing Cadet for a Day, and probably got a better idea of what daily life is like at the Academy. AIM will let you know what Swab Summer is like, and to a certain extent, your first year (why don't they have a smiley that chuckles evilly?).

You can choose. Just sign up fast because they can fill up. I received my acceptance to AIM at the end of April-ish last year.
