I found out from our son that Laughlin AFB has laid off 70 civilian aircraft maintainers. I response to that, UPT classes have been reduced from 25 students to 20 students due to less planes being available at any given time. This will stretch out the length of time needed to get all of the AFA 2Lts who are waiting for UPT by 20%. I am sure this will affect the pipeline for future classes.

It will also be harder to get employment in the federal government because of cuts, hiring freezes and an overall confusion on future budgets.

Cuts are and should be coming. The federal government has turned into a fat, slow pig. May be painful, but it should happen.
