Allergies vs. Adverse Reactions

I am currently filling out the medical history form, and there are two questions, one asking "Have you ever had or do you now have any allergies?" and one asking "Have you ever had or do you now have adverse reaction to vaccines, drugs, medicines, foods, insect bites or stings?"

What is the difference between an allergic reaction and an adverse reaction?
