I am asking this for another student who is interested in the Academy from our HS. Is a peanut allergy and disqualification?

In short ...yes.

Long answer they maybe able to get a waiver for the allergy.

DoDMERB DQs. Commissioning sources are in charge of waivers. The AF will want to know how allergic they are to peanuts before determining if they waive.

There are a lot of posters that have peanut allergies, got a DQ or remedial at best and than a waiver.

All they can do is take the DoDMERB and have records ready to prove that this is not going to be a medical issue.
~ Big difference from a candidate that cannot eat anything cooked in peanut oil because they will need an epipen compared to the kid that can eat peanuts and gets a rash for a few hours when it comes to waivers.
